Fire Protection Developments

In 2011, TLX applied for several patents related to new development for fire protection systems.

  • A unique latching solenoid used to operate a pressure valve that released fire suppressant material from a pressurized container.  This invention replaced the pyrotechnic device commonly used in fire protection systems.

  • The second patent was for a mechanism that detects whether the pressure valve is fully connected to the latching solenoid.  This invention allows operators to detect whether the pressure valve is connected properly.
